Matrimony

Marriage is where human love becomes divine mission.

From the beginning, God declares, “The two shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24). And in Christ, this love is elevated: “Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the Church” (Ephesians 5:25). This is the measure of love—total, faithful, sacrificial.

Pope John Paul II teaches that love finds its fullness when it becomes a sincere gift of self (Familiaris Consortio). Marriage is this gift, lived daily.

In your vows, you give yourselves completely. In your fidelity, you reflect God’s faithfulness. In your openness to life, you participate in His creative love.

Mother Adela Galindo, the Foundress of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, says, “The family is to be a home of love… where authentic love is lived and taught” (piercedhearts.org). Your marriage becomes that home—a living witness of the Heart of Christ.

Love is strengthened, purified, and made enduring in Christ.

If you are preparing for marriage, entrust your love to God. If you are married, renew your yes. Let your love become a reflection of the Heart of Jesus—faithful, fruitful, and forever.
