Confirmation
Confirmation is your Pentecost. It is the moment when the Holy Spirit descends upon you with power, sealing you as a witness of Christ and setting your heart on fire with divine love.
Jesus promises, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8). This promise is fulfilled in you. You are not meant to live a quiet, hidden faith—you are sent.
Through the anointing with Sacred Chrism, your soul is marked forever. This seal is not visible to the world, but it is known in heaven. You belong entirely to Christ.
Pope John Paul II reminds us that the Spirit gives the courage to live and proclaim the Gospel. Confirmation is not a graduation—it is a mission. The Church now looks to you to carry Christ into the world.
The oil placed upon your forehead is the touch of God Himself—strengthening you, consecrating you, and sending you. The Spirit fills you with His gifts so that your life may reflect wisdom, courage, and reverence before God.
Mother Adela Galindo, the Foundress of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, says, “We are called to live and work in the power of the Holy Spirit… inflamed with His Love” (piercedhearts.org). This is the grace of Confirmation: a heart no longer lukewarm, but burning. The same Spirit who descended at Pentecost now lives within you.
Open your heart. Let the Holy Spirit set it ablaze. The world needs your witness—your courage, your love, your yes.
