Reflection

“There was a landowner who planted a vineyard put a hedge around it……..then he lease it to tenants and went on a journey.”  Mt. 21:33.

In this beautiful parable Jesus calls our soul a vineyard!  And He invites us to protect our spiritual life from all things that take away our peace and produce anxiety in our lives.

The Lord surrounds our souls with a fence that is His peace.

We must draw near to the Lord through prayer as Pope Francis says:  “Do not be afraid to get closer to the Lord in prayer”.

Prayer, as Pope Francis says, makes us be alert and awake and above all prayer helps us to be patient and constant in charity.

The Lord loves us and has given us a spiritual soul that we must cultivate and protect from the world and the greediness of the power of evil.

When you go to prayer remember this phrase from Christ:

“I have told you this so that you might have peace in me.  In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.”

I invite you when you pray to ask yourself before the Lord:  What are the anxieties that take away the peace from your soul?
